I have recently read an article about a 90 year old World War II veteran named Van T. Barfoot. this man has been awarded a Congressional Medal of Honor for actions such as standing up to three German tanks with a bazooka and stopping them. But now this trusty veteran is being told to remove the flag pole in his own front yard. The Sussex Square homeowners' association has guideline that forbid the flag from being hung on a flag pole that isn't connected to the front of the house. "This is about the American flag. This is about a pole." said the association. If Van doesn't take the pole down by Friday, he will face a lawsuit.

I think it isn't fair that they are suing him if he doesn't remove the pole. He has a Medal of Honor and he's also very old. He should be allowed to have it in his yard if he wants. Also, if it violated any rules, then why are they suddenly noticing it now and not later. Mark R. Warner also supports the man to have a flagpole as do many people on Facebook. The flagpole is a way that Van expresses his love for America, and he should be allowed to express it in any way that he wants.
